Any recommendations for great pho in Berkeley, Oakland, or Alameda?
Pho Hoa (a chain) is alright but I'm shootin' for something more authentic. Thanks!

Wed, November 17, 2004 - 6:44 PMthanks night bird, i'm currently out of town but i'll definitely try one of those places when i return. funny, for the five years i lived in berkeley (and walking up telegraph everyday) i never came across saigon city.
ghetto noodle sounds cool, too, those kind of places tend to have the best food. thanks!!

Fri, December 24, 2004 - 4:48 PM"Ghetto Noodle"? Hrmm, I've been to far sketchier places around here. SF in particular has some real dives. (Tu Lan, for example... and I didn't even think the food was very good there)
Biggest problem with New Pagolac is the ear splitting karaoke they like to do sometimes. (Wednesdays seem to be a favorite night)
For the record, the address is...
New Pagolac

Oakland, CA 94606

Re: Pho in East Bay?
Thu, April 14, 2005 - 6:42 PMPho Ao Sen on the corner of International and 2nd Street/Ave has the best pho I have ever had. My VN friend agrees. Very, very good, although a bit cloudy. They serve pho with that extra herb whose name escapes my mind.
Also good is Pho Hoa Lao, further down on International. Slightly less addictive, but clearer soup. Super good.
